Norway is known as cross-country skiing country but also the downhill possibilities have become increasingly better over the years . For the snowboarders among us there are possibilities in many areas, there are plenty of snowboard parks with half pipes and big jumps present. there are also some places with extreme winter activities include: ice climbing on frozen waterfalls, snow rafting or hang-gliding from the mountain tops. The ski areas are well equipped for all ages, for children there is often small slopes. Overall a winter sports holiday for the whole family.

GÅLÅ : right in hart of Peer Gynt area , at about 900 meters altitude , you will find this sports center . Winter in Gålå is a real treat , not only cross-country trails through forests, valleys and plateaus , but also beautiful wide slopes for telemark skiing and enough space for both beginners and advanced snowboarders and downhill skiers . The 7 lifts ensure that you can enjoy some 22 km of slopes . For snowboarders there is a snowboard park with a half pipe , en enough to go freestyle . The Trollklubb , Knertenklubb and Gålå junior ski club take good care of the children . There are special children lifts , pistes and a ski school. There are various organized  activities such as skiing competitions, horse sleigh rides , ice fishing , snow rafting and tobogganing.
